My Review
Creativity comes in many shapes and forms. Some people are simply born with it while others struggle to feel inspired. This book can help ether one. It teaches 7 powerful habits to unlocking your full creative potential. If you wish to access more creativity flow in your everyday live, this is for you. This is so much more than just a book dear reader, it’s a deeper level of personal and creative transformation that will help improve your health, career, relationship and your life.
I loved the positivity that runs freely throughout this book. Pearl is nothing but supportive and encouraging in her writing. It’s refreshing and soul soothing to read. She is the reader’s own personal cheerleader, keeping them going with her uplifting words and advice.
Pearl also shares her own creativity journey and experience throughout the book. You learn how she was stuck in a toxic situation but decided to make a change for herself and her son despite what everyone around her said. She has worked on countless big projects with companies like MTV and with a long list of celebrities such as Paul McKenna. Her CV is endless. You can feel the passion she has for her work flowing off the page. She also mentions how many big stars such as The Beatles have also had their own personal setbacks, being rejected and told they would never amount to anything. It’s inspiring to read and gives you hope to find your own path. Anything is possible, you just have to believe in yourself and not give up. Ever.
It is essential that you keep a journal when you begin your creativity journey. Something that is personal and private to only you. Pearl includes exercises that help gain a better understanding and mindset into how to help unlock your creativity. As a writer I do hit the old writer’s block and creativity slump more than I care to admit. The stresses of life weigh you down and you feel stuck in a rut. I could already notice the difference after a few days of completing the exercises and saying my affirmations. My journal became my best friend, a place I could go to jot down my thoughts and feelings. It helped my mind feel less cluttered as I could put all my ideas down onto paper, turn them into mind-maps and start to see where each one would take me. It’s an important part of the process to complete these tasks as they will help hardwire your mind to approach things differently. You begin to start to see a change and witness the growth of your own creative flow. It’s a wonderful feeling and experience to be a part of. I loved every second.
Pearl takes the reader through each of the 7 habits step by step explaining why each one will help. It makes you think and realise how things like meditation, learning to breathe correctly and self-care play important factors in how we approach creativity. Pearl stresses how it’s important that we look after ourselves, our mind, body and health to help unlocking creativity. Not only that but it will also help towards finding happiness and fulfilment. She opens your eyes to how you talk to yourself, that for every negative habit or comment you make to adopt a more positive one instead. To cut ties with toxic people in your life, learn to say no to things and yes to creating your own time being creative. Create a lifestyle that supports your creative self. Before reading this book I hadn’t really thought about how these things would effect my creativity. With Pearl’s help and advice I started to see and understand that they all play a part in creating the bigger picture.
I give The Art Of Creativity By Susie Pearl a Five out of Five paw rating.
Bursting with inspiring creativity, this is a must read for everyone! After reading and completing the exercises you will start to see the positive impact on your everyday life dear reader with how you approach your career, health and relationships. Anything is possible, especially with the right mind-frame.
This inspiring little book is that much needed ray of sunshine a lot of us have been looking for. No longer will the storm clouds float above our heads, dooming us with their gloom. Positivity and creativity will now forever continue to shine through. And it’s beautiful.
