LOUD NOISES! You get used to it when you marry a drummer. I am lucky that I actually really like the noise and could listen to it all day. That and I have a trusty pair of ear plugs, (thank you hubby) a must if you don’t want to go deaf and get tinnitus. Ears are important and can’t look after themselves now can they? Wouldn’t it be really creepy if they could? Like do things on their own? ….
Today the Christmas Crocodile decided to have a go at drumming. I believe the spirit of Animal was with him today as he did a ton of crazy drum solos. His favourite drums are the toms, he likes the booming sound they make. Dramatic and fierce like a crocodile. His words not mine. There are now talks of him setting up a band with Pucho the sea panda and Maggie the sea cow.
Believe it or not drumming is harder than it looks. A lot of people tend to think it’s very easy and you just hit drums with wooden sticks, when in fact it’s a hell of a lot more. It takes talent to drum. Anyone can sit behind a drum kit and bash the cymbals about, but to keep a rhythm and be creative takes a lot more.
My husband has taught me a few things about drums but I have no rhythm whatsoever. I get easily distracted or start over thinking too much. I think my instrument of choice would be the piano. Imagine if you could just sit down in front of any musical instrument and play it to perfection. How musically creative the world would be. Music is everything, much like reading and writing. It is an art that takes patience and practice to craft into a masterpiece. Ooooooh maybe I should learn the ukulele?! I do have a PURPLE one that I have been meaning to learn. Could be one of my goals for next year. Arghh I digress.
I wonder what the Christmas Crocodile will get up to tomorrow?
Hop hop wiggle wiggle.
