As I write this I am sipping tea and nibbling greedily at my Easter egg. What I should be doing is finishing getting ready for the family BBQ! (Fingers crossed it won’t rain!) We can hope!
Happy Easter everyone! I hope this day finds you surrounded by everything that is chocolate! Oh and of course your dear loved ones. Whatever you are doing today, going out or staying in and pigging out on the sofa, I hope you all have a truly great day.
I love this time of year, I have so many happy memories of being a child, making and baking things. Spring was always a time to be crafty in my household. We would make Easter cards covered in glitter and bake Easter nests, chocolate covered cornflakes with mini eggs on top. Spring always makes me happy, the air smells fresh and there are tons of beautiful daffodils everywhere! There’s something great about taking that first bite into your Easter egg that makes you feel like you are transported to Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory as your taste buds come alive with the sweet chocolate flavours of delight.
True to form I have baked an Easter cake. It’s been extremely hard to try not to devour it before it arrives at its destination. Very, very hard! The whole house smells of baking, its gorgeous, I love it!
